Like a rocket, a shooting star this mortal coil
Recoils like a bullet out of a gun
Being shot across the universe to be united with the one
No more weary toil unearthing unproductive soil
Beaten down by the sun
Now holding only aces I see only smiles across the faces
Of those who have gone before
And here I stand unashamed with trepidation
Pronouncing the unspeakable name as he opens up the door
Trying to figure out this configuration
Of tales that long ago had been told
Of gates of pearl and rivers flowing
Right across transparent streets of gold
And this speck cannot introspect or interject
For all and more besides he has known
Who is this lamb who cries and dies for the elect
Who is this man who with open hand has only sand
To offer to this pure and radiant light
In his presence there is no sun or moon
And the very stars have taken flight
From such brilliance there is nothing I can hide
And yet with nail scarred hands he motions
To come in, you are forgiven and the door is open wide
